Here are some things to consider to make the most out of your appointment time.

What should I think about before my session?

• Pick up a blank confirmation page.  Fill out the top portion (your name, class, etc.) before you come in.  Completing this step beforehand means you don't need to spend time do so at the beginning of your session.
• What do I want to work on in my session?
• Half hour sessions go by quickly, and unfortunately tutors cannot always address every concern.  Choose your top 3 or 4 concerns (unclear thesis, confusing organization, etc.) and let your tutor know what you would like to work on first.
• Turn off all personal communication devices so that you can focus fully on the session.

What should I bring to my appointment?

• Your prepared confirmation sheet. 
• A written copy of your assignment.  Reading the actual prompt helps tutors understand the professor's expectations.
• Your current draft/notes.
• A writing implement - pencil, pen, etc.
• An open mind.  Remember, our goal is to help you.  If something is unclear, please feel free to ask for clarification.
